SourceId

Enum SourceId

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub enum SourceId { Other(Arc<str>), }
Expand description

Some identifier of the source text that a Location refers to. The content only matters to the caller, who will need to be able to use this to give diagnostics to users.

This might be a file name, reference to an editor panel, or a unique identifier for a sub-slice of a larger text. It could also be the string content itself.

Consumers that need to distinguish several kinds of source text should agree on a convention for the identifier string. For example, the apollo-shape crate identifies GraphQL source files by path with a graphql: prefix.

This enum is #[non_exhaustive]: variants may be added in a future release without a breaking change, so downstream matches need a wildcard arm.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

Other(Arc<str>)

An arbitrary source identifier from a consumer.
